Computer Software for SAR

Here is a list of some useful software downloads for SAR use. Let me know if you think there are other useful SAR specific programs that are useful to us here in New Zealand.

Smaller files will be on the local server, larger files will be linked from other sites if they are worthwhile.

• CASIE 3 Search Management tool V1.01a (DOS) Helps with Probability calculations, segmentation etc
• NZMG Conversion program V1.1 (Windows) Converts between NZMG and NZ Geodetic 49 Datum Lat Longs
• Map Grid Graticule A file that can be printed onto a transparent mylar sheet and provides a graticule that exactly fits a map square, with a tenth km grid provided. Just slide one over the square you are in and read off the third digit of the easting and northing from the transparency Another Map graticule
• Excel Viewer A file viewer for Excel Spreadsheet files, if you do not have the latest version of Excel
• Word Viewer A file viewer for Word document files, if you do not have the latest version of Word
• A file viewer for PowerPoint Presentations.
