The Communications Sub-Committee has been instrumental in the specification and arrangements
for the Police to purchase new VHF SAR Radios, Repeaters and Base sets to replace the aging
equipment previously held.

This new equipment has proven to be extremely useful.
Some 36 sets of 6 handheld radios, 10 portable repeaters, with another 10 due real soon, and 26 base sets have been distributed around the country.
The committee is now looking at a further distribution and possible linking repeaters to allow extended operating range.
