The Harris Cup, or Harris Trophy, is an annual competition between SAR groups in the Canterbury SAR District and greater Canterbury area.
The Cup was presented for the Competition by Neil Harris, a long time Canterbury SAR Advisor, who has now moved to the West Coast.
Each team is to complete an mini SAREX which is marked on various SAR Skills.
The skills that are marked can vary from year to year, but usually include some of:

- Communications
- River Crossing
- Stretcher Carry
- Observation
- Tracking
- Equipment Check
